Keto Carnivory: Other Aspects of Crohn's Disease

Keto Carnivory

Other Aspects of Crohn's Disease

I think that for most people that have a "normal" gut and eat pretty much anything they want, they have trouble sympathizing and understanding what life is like when you grow up with Crohn's disease. I did not have an official diagnosis until very recently, but my whole childhood I suffered with near constant gut pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc. It was terrible and really fairly debilitating, honestly.

I tried everything, from vegetarianism to veganism to Mediterranean to Paleo to low-fiber to low-fat, you name it, I tried it. It wasn't until I tried carnivory that I actually got 100% relief. It has been a godsend!

But then recently I started suffering with some gut issues again and I could not figure out the problem. I had not changed anything in my diet at all. So I did some research, and came to some discoveries!

One, I think that as we have replenished our electrolytes, we may not need the same amount of salt anymore. So I have stopped using salt altogether, and that has worked! On a side note, a friend sent me an article stating that 90% of sea salt now has microplastics in it. So that would not be surprising then if it made us sick!

Also, another interesting component of gut issues which is not commonly considered, is wearing constrictive clothing! Such as tight pants or jeans, belts, tights, etc. I have switched to non-constrictive clothing and it has made a big difference in gut comfort! So simple, but really effective!

So sometimes it is necessary to look beyond just the food itself to find the answer to gut issues!
