Keto Carnivory: Importance of Vitamin K2, Chemical-free Living, Zero Carb Cat

I have been reading lately about the importance of vitamin K2. It is a really crucial vitamin,
and very neglected in modern diets.

It is mostly available in grassfed animal fats. It
is also available in natto (fermented soybeans),
which I used to love back when I ate plant matter. But now knowing that soy is deleterious to the environment and those little Styrofoam packs too, so animal fat is preferable in so many ways.

K2 is really important for proper calcium utilization throughout the body: heart, cardiovascular, bones, teeth, prevention of cancer, etc. Yet the powers that be have been telling people to avoid ruminant animal fats for decades. And we see the repercussions! Obesity, diabetes, cancers all greatly increased during that time.

Vitamin K2 can be found most in the organ meats and fats of grassfed ruminant animals.

So I have decided that I am going to focus on grassfed only. I had been getting some grainfed organ meats, because that is all I could find due to shortages. But I will hold out for grassfed.

I was able to get a few things from some other local grassfed ranchers yesterday. Some tongue, kidney, short ribs, soup bones. Hopefully that can tide me over till my favorite grassfed beef rancher has some more in stock!

I have been doing bodyweight exercises to regain muscle. I was disappointed in the results of my DEXA scan which showed 29% bodyfat. Although that is ok for a 48 year old female, I would like to improve that!

In other news, I have still been living chemical free except for contact lens solution. I quit using henna and indigo on my hair a year ago. I use diluted white vinegar instead of shampoo and for facial wash. That is great for keeping a healthy acid mantle. I use local unscented goat milk soap for my body, but I am thinking of trying diluted vinegar again for my body, since it is so much healthier pH-wise.

I use lanolin for moisturizer. It is a perfect slightly acidic pH and very nourishing, rather than rubbing omega 6 all over your skin by using plant oils!

I wash my dishes with diluted white vinegar as well, and my laundry with baking soda and white vinegar. It works great and the items are really soft!  I have also just used vinegar for laundry.

I clean glass with diluted white vinegar also. I just use water on my wood floors.

I use baking soda for my teeth, as our mouth should be just slightly alkaline for best health.

I do not use any makeup besides Zuzu brand eyeliner, which is just mineral pigment and oils. I do not use any other cosmetics or toiletries.

I wear 100% cotton, linen, silk, or wool, and the same for my towels, sheets, and coverlets. Those fibers breathe well so I don't need deodorant or antiperspirant.

I sunbathe (nude when possible) as much as I can, especially at peak UV times, to try and keep my vitamin D levels high. D works in conjunction with vitamin K2. As long as we avoid omega 6 fats (which are found in seeds, nuts, their oils, and animals that eat them such as pork and poultry), sunshine is healthy for us and we do
not get sunburn.

My cat is still zero carb as well, over a year and a half. He has gone from portly to lithe! Really transformative!
