Keto Carnivory: Carnivore on a Retirement Budget

Next week I will start early retirement! So I need to be very careful with my budget.

I'm estimating that I need around 2 lbs. per day of frozen meat, which cooks up to around 1.7 lbs of finished product to eat per day. According to my calculations, I can only spend up to around $5 per pound. So, my plan is purchase the cheaper organ meats with little to no waste on them, such as beef sweetbreads, heart, shank, tongue, and kidney, from my local grain-fed beef rancher. Unfortunately, grass-fed beef is no longer in the budget.

I might also buy some grain-fed ground beef from time to time from my local grocery store, although I don't really like ground meat. I might pick up some pork or chicken from my local grocery store too, although I really prefer beef. But they are right across the street for one, and their prices are excellent. So it is pretty tempting! And their meat is surprisingly good for the price.

I am looking forward to retirement. Time to relax, challenge my mind with putting together a self-sufficient homestead!
