I thought it might be nice to set up a Question and Answer page for people that might have questions, comments, or support regarding following a zero carb keto diet! Note that I am not a doctor, this is not medical advice, just my own personal opinion! And of course, please keep comments respectful and civil! To participate, please click "Enter Your Comment" under the Comments area below on this page. Then I will get a notification and can reply to you! You will be given an option to receive notification by email of any followup replies to your comment. Thank you for reading! Grassfed lamb ribs with sea salt

Zero Carb Keto: Hormonal Balance

Zero Carb Keto

Hormonal Balance

It seems to me that hormonal balance is intimately connected with metabolic health. When people have metabolic issues and sugar spikes and crashes, it seems that causes hormonal balance to go awry also.

For women, this could mean difficult, painful menses, or pregnancy with morning sickness or gestational diabetes, or peri-menopause and menopause with hot flashes and irritability.

For men, it can mean low testosterone and issues with retaining abdominal fat.

A zero carb (meat and fat) ketogenic diet is excellent for metabolic health. Insulin needs are very reduced as there are no spikes or crashes, just solid low levels all day and night.

Same with blood pressure on zero carb keto. Blood pressure becomes steady and low all the time, at least when avoiding dairy, pork, and poultry. It was higher when I ate those other foods!

It has really been amazing, and wonderful to see these changes in my health and hormonal balance!
