Question and Answer Page!

I thought it might be nice to set up a Question and Answer page for people that might have questions, comments, or support regarding following a zero carb keto diet! Note that I am not a doctor, this is not medical advice, just my own personal opinion! And of course, please keep comments respectful and civil! To participate, please click "Enter Your Comment" under the Comments area below on this page. Then I will get a notification and can reply to you! You will be given an option to receive notification by email of any followup replies to your comment. Thank you for reading! Grassfed lamb ribs with sea salt

Why No Plant Matter?

I do not eat any plant matter. Just meat, fat, and salt. Why is that, you may ask?

Plants contain fructans, which are chains of fructose molecules. Plants create fructans to help them survive drought and cold. The human digestive system actually lacks the enzyme to break fructans down. Even ruminant animals can have dangerous problems with fructans. For humans, fructans can cause bloating, intestinal pain, diarrhea and/or constipation - and last for days, affecting one's mood as well. So when the powers-that-be say to eat more fiber, they are wrong! It will only make matters worse!

When I completely avoid plant matter (and hence fructans), my digestion runs smoothly and regularly. But what about all those vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that we supposedly need from plants? Actually, the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in meat products are very easily assimilated by the human body. Plant matter, on the other hand, presents a host of obstacles such as lectins, tannins, and phytates, which can actually damage the human intestinal tract!

A diet of only meat, fat, and salt will provide all of your necessary nutrients and keep the intestinal tract running smoothly and happily. Your abdomen will be actually perfectly flat, not bloated! And when you think about it, it only makes sense. Meat and fat are what our homo sapiens ancestors ate for about 140,000 years before the relatively new arrival of warmer weather and agriculture!
