Keto Carnivore: Nice Trip to the Cattle Ranch

My friend who was taking the 30-carnivore challenge and had his last day yesterday, has decided to keep it up! He has lost 25 lbs on it! So amazing!

We went out to visit one of my favorite local beef ranchers yesterday, about an hour's drive out in the countryside. It was a lovely spring morning, the redbuds and dogwoods were all blooming and there was fresh green growth on all the trees. We saw beautiful healthy cows out on the vivaciously green pastures.

I picked up some gorgeous fatty brisket, short ribs, beef heart, ground beef, ground veal, and ground lamb. I'm so happy with their briskets. They have such a gorgeous, wonderful crispy golden fat when slow-cooked for 12 hours!

I forgot to pick up some beef kidney. I really enjoy that too. The kidney and heart are pretty lean on their own, so I like to add some marrow fat when I eat those. I just smear it on the cold meat slices as if they were crackers!

I am so happy for my friend that he has lost so much weight. He looks fantastic. We have also been enjoying weekly infrared sauna visits too. That has probably been helping with the amazing weight loss. I'm hoping to buy an infrared sauna of my own perhaps, when I move into my new house in about six weeks!

It is always so nice to go out to the ranch to see the actual animals you are eating. It makes me feel much more connected. I like knowing my ranchers personally and having a wonderful decade-long relationship with them!
