Zero Carb Keto: Satiety

One thing I really enjoy about zero carb keto is the great feeling of satiety.

Back in the days when I ate carbs, I could eat and eat and eat, and still never really feel satiated. And then I would be hungry again a few hours later! And I know some people even get up in the middle of the night to eat more!

But with very small amounts of fatty red meat, I feel very satisfied, and it lasts all day and night! It really is amazing.

These are really quite small pieces of meat, too. I do not have huge ribeye steaks like some zero carbers do. I practice about 20% calorie restriction, so my portions are quite small, a little smaller than my palm. About the size of the outside perimeter of a rectangle made by touching my first finger to my thumb.

So just three meals that size per day keeps me perfectly satiated!

But for me, the type of meat is very important. I do not find pork, poultry or eggs as satiating, or dairy either. In fact, I think they can be kind of addictive.

So I prefer red meat. And of course, there must be a high fat content in the red meat, since I do not normally use any added fats.

I even have started to notice a small difference between the satiety of fatty beef versus fatty lamb. Although lamb is fattier, I tend to feel more satiated with beef. My theory is that beef is richer in nutrients, perhaps because of its older age. It tastes richer, at least!

It is a really amazing and freeing feeling to be fully satiated all the time!
