Carnivore Diet: Addressing Hypothyroid

Ok, so blood tests revealed apparent autoimmune hypothyroiditis. The big question is, hat am I going to do about it?

I discovered it because of rapid weight gain despite restricted calories. Also missed menses. So I ordered blood tests and they showed lowT3 and T4 and high TPO antibodies. I also have low blood pressure and low body temperature. That all confirms it.

I am trying to figure out how best to solve this. At first I thought I had created the problem by restricting calories, but I don't think so. I have held at around the same weight for three years. There is no reason that suddenly the calorie restriction would cause autoimmune response.

I think perhaps it was caused by switching to high protein instead of high fat. That seems to coincide.

So I guess my plan is to return to high fat and restrict calories again to try and lose the weight I have gained.

Hopefully that does it!
