I do not like to eat out. For one, even though I request "No seasonings, no sides, no toppings, no bread," they always screw it up. Also, it seems rather ridiculous to spend $10-15 on a little plain lump of overcooked ground beef. And to me, the most disappointing aspect is the food quality. Conventional meat and farmed fish just has zero flavor. No wonder people have to add so many seasonings and toppings and sauces! Their meat is completely devoid of flavor!
And if it is completely devoid of flavor, then it is likely pretty devoid of nutrition too. You can eat, and eat, and eat and never get enough nutrition from it, because it just doesn't have any.
To me, food quality matters. Even though getting good fatty 100% grassfed and grass-finished red meats, or wild-caught fish, seemingly costs more, it actually doesn't, because you can eat less of it and get actually more nutrition.
Then there's the environmental and animal wellness aspects as well. 100% grassfed and grass-finished ruminant animals actually help replenish the earth's topsoil and encourage species diversity. Whereas raising the plant matter that is fed to grain-fed animals and farmed fish is devastating to the topsoil and the entire biome.
It is possible to get really good prices on whole lamb or sheep shares, or partial beef shares, when purchasing directly from a local grassfed farmer. And then you can request more fatty animals, as well! And when following a ketogenic carnivorous diet, we need the fat. The fat is the main source of the nutrition, as well as the feeling of satiety.
Food quality really does matter.
