Keepin' It Ketogenic

I bought about part of a calf share the other day, but I think it is not fatty enough to stay ketogenic. Lamb definitely is, and my whole lamb share worked great. But veal does not seem to be as fatty, at least not according to the nutrition tracker!

I actually got kind of "protein poisoning" yesterday. I was trying to reach my regular calories (using the nutrition tracker and weighing my foods) but I just couldn't reach it with the veal yesterday. So I just ate more. Unfortunately, it was too much protein and I ended up feeling sick and got a headache. My gut was distended and I got really thirsty too. I still don't feel well this morning, and the scale says I gained two pounds in one day!

So I will have to figure out something to do. One thing I can do is drink the juices when I cook ground veal. There's some fat in there. I could order some beef marrow online, but it is just so expensive.

It could be that the meat is fattier than the nutrition tracker says it is, in which case I just ate too much! I can go on that assumption for now!
