Zero Carb Keto: A Different Culture

The past few days I have been posting about alternative ideas for the holidays, in terms of birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. In modern Western culture, so much of these holidays revolves around eating foods that are harmful to the metabolism. Frosted cakes, pies, egg nog, cookies, breads, stuffings, the list goes on and on. If you look at Halloween, Valentine's Day, Easter, weddings, anniversaries, etc., you can see just how much the modern Western idea of celebration directly relates to sugar and starch!

And do not even get me started on the consumerist / materialist part of it!

I really enjoy stepping outside of all of that.

I want to be a part of a different culture.

A culture where we just cherish each other's company, fresh air, peacefulness, quiet, and bodily exercise, in place of greediness of material objects, sloth, and gluttony of deleterious foods.

This goes beyond holidays too. Every day! I want to enjoy the real delights of the world. The beauty of sunshine, the mystery of rain, fresh air, open spaces, the ability to run and walk for lengths of time in quiet, natural places. To hear birdsong and animal chatter instead of sirens and trucks. The amazing goodness and simplicity of a few bites of incredible, succulent, fatty beef, with nothing added but a little sea salt. Fresh, clean, cold water to drink.

It is a very different culture to modern western culture, but I feel that it is actually very natural and intrinsic to human nature!
