Zero Carb Keto: Plants Are Not Innocuous

I watched two very good videos yesterday which both happened to talk about the toxins in plants. One was with Dr. Georgia Ede, and the other was with Sally K Norton.

Both had the same message - that plants are not innocuous!

Plants are full of antinutrients and toxins. That is their defense mechanism! Some of these toxins are oxalates, lectins, phytates, tannins, saponins, and fructans. There are more, too!

Dr. Ede said an interesting thing her lecture, that even ruminants cannot really digest grains. Only three microorganisms actually contain the enzymes needed to digest grains!

Ingestion of these toxins can cause a wide variety of problems, and not just for humans. Inflammation, neurological problems, arthritis, gastrointestinal issues, and the list goes on.

So when you hear "Eat lots and lots of vegetables!", you have to realize that people are just not very well informed.

Even herbs, spices, and teas, far from being innocuous, are extremely high in toxins. In fact, that is why they were used as medicines, because of the concept of hormesis (which is kind of the concept of a vaccine).

And when you hear vegetarians or vegans say that meat rots in the gut, they are misinformed. Pure meats and animal fats are the only foods that do not contain these antinutrients. So they are the only foods that we can actually fully digest and assimilate!

Also the more of these antinutrients you eat, the worse the problems get and eventually you can reach a point where the damage is irreversable. In fact, some of these toxins are so dangerous, that they can be fatal. For example, the saponins in soapwort.

Rich, fatty red meats, on the other hand, are easily assimilated and very densely nutritious! Only small amounts are needed for full nutrition, no supplements necessary!

It is also incredibly important to eat the fat (when it is 100% grassfed red meats). You will know it is grassfed when the fat is a gorgeous golden color. This fat is exceptionally highly nutritious and calorie dense, so only very small amounts are needed. But goodness, what a completely succulent and stimulating way to get good nutrition!
